Public Hearing: Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery

Event Date: March 20, 2025
Public Hearing: Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery

The state anticipates receiving nearly $68 million from US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Community Development Block Grant- Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds in response to Vermont's July 2023 floods FEMA Disaster Declaration 4720.

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) staff will be holding a public hearing to get input from Vermont residents on the DRAFT HUD CDBG-DR Action Plan on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m. The in-person location will be at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center Community Room, 58 Barre Street, Montpelier. Information about joining the meeting virtually can be found on our website - https://accd.vermont.gov/community-development/funding-incentives/disaster-recovery.

The purpose of the hearing is to listen to residents’ views that were impacted by the June 2023 floods to help determine the state’s unmet needs for planning, housing, infrastructure, economic revitalization, and public service from the flooding.

A draft of the plan will be made available on the department’s website tentatively on March 14, 2025.
