Winter Parking Ban Towing Procedures
Vehicles that are legally registered and are towed in violation of the City's winter parking ban are towed to the Public Safety Complex located at 15 Fourth Street. Abandoned and/or unregistered vehicles are towed to the tow company's place of business.
In addition to towing, these vehicles receive a winter parking ban violation ticket. The violation fees are set and approved by City Council. The FY24-25 fee for winter parking violations is $38.
Vehicle owners wishing to retrieve their vehicle must pay the towing fee as well as the winter ban violation ticket. The towing fee is set by the tow company that is awarded the annual contract. The FY24-25 towing fee is $125.
The total cost to retrieve a towed vehicle is $163.
Due to space and logistics at the Public Safety Complex, vehicles must be retrieved within 72 hours (3 days) after towing. Vehicles not retrieved within 72 hours will be towed to the tow company's place of business where they may incur additional storage fees as set by the tow company.
